Car Sales
When car buyers are searching the internet for great deals on cars, more often than not they're looking for something specific. Over the past 10 or so years, car sales has progressed from going to your local dealer and sitting down at a desk when a phony sales person tries every trick in the book to get you to part with your hard earned cash and up the percentage on your repayments to maximise the profit and comission they make.
Many dealers are now utilizing the internet which is reflected in a search for new or used cars in your favourinte search engine. You'll get literally hundreds of thousands of results and hundreds of thousands of 'deals'. It's hard to find a reputable dealer who has your best interests at heart and the deal that really stacks up as a deal, rather than what the trade calls a 'lost-leader'. I'll go into some of the car dealers jargon a bit further down this page, but here you will find out why we set ourselves apart from traditional car sales people and the showrooms.
Traditional Showrooms vs Internet Sales
Once upon a time when you wanted to buy a car you'd go to your local dealer, walk around the pitch and look at cars while plucking up the courage to go inside the expensive showrooms and be accosted and judged by the sales people. I say judged, because that's exactly what they are doing when you walk in. They judge whether you are a buyer or browser. If you look affluent, the sales guys will try everything to accost you and look after you. If you look as though you're killing time by coming into the showroom for a browse before you have to collect the kids from football practise, they'll ignore you or shoot you the occasional 'Are you alright there?'.
If you really are looking for a car, you are limited to what that dealer has on his pitch and if you make the mistake of saying, 'I'd have it, if only it was in a better colour..' then they will try and sell you it by telling you that the colour they have it in is easier to clean, is more individual, makes a statement about who you are and any other drivel they can come out with. Unless they have the car you want, but it's not exactly what you want, but they do such a 'better deal' on a higher specification car. How many times does that happen?
It's because you are limited to the choice that's available to you in your local area. Who has the time to travel miles and miles away to go and find a car? The internet makes it easier to search for the car of your choice, but it often means that you have to take a day off work to go and look at it, drive it etc.
So why would you use the services of someone like us? An internet car retailer. Well, basically because we cater to your needs and requirements. If you want a LHD Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCi in Black with a sunroof, that is exactly what we'll source for you. Why can we do this? Well, we have a dealer network who stock millions of cars that we have access to. Because we're in the motor trade, we can buy these cars at a trade price, which is often considerably lower than the retail 'screen' price the dealer is selling for. This allows us to make a small profit on the car and to cover our minimal costs, so whatever saving is left we pass on to you, our customer.
We don't hold stock, we don't have huge showrooms to maintain and upkeep, we don't have huge costs involved in keeping a stock of hundreds of cars and more importantly to you, we don't try desperately to sell you a vehicle you have not specifically asked for. We listen to your requirements and we base our offer on what you tell us you want.
Why Buy from the Matt Cardy Group?
There are many reasons why we feel we're the best when it comes to sourcing cars on your behalf. Personally, I think the most important thing to consider is that we have built our foundations on being totally honest. Over the years we've seen so many people in this industry tell lies and use everything but their integrity to sell cars. We're not part of the 'old school' of car dealers who try all the tricks in the book to maximise their profit. The way I see it is - a car is bloody expensive. In most cases it's the second biggest purchase that most people make in their lives, so if it's not what you want, why should you buy it? I don't think you should, I think you should get exactly what you want. You're paying good money aren't you?
Again, we don't hold stock. On our various websites you will see stock advertised, and basically these are examples of cars we are able to get hold of, or that our various dealers and associates have in stock. We have based our business on you getting what you want from us. We do the leg work so you don't have to. There's nothing worse than trawling around trying to find a car. Many people send enquiries to us through our sites and they still shop around trying to find the car they want at a better price. That's understandable and if I was in the same position, I think I'd do the same. The fact is that we'll do our best on your behalf to find you the best car at the best price, we'll do it efficiently, courteously and often within the time frame you're looking for.
We don't massively inflate the prices of our vehicles and we don't try and sell you a myriad of add-ons like mudflaps, mats, paint protection, finance etc. etc. At present, we don't offer finance deals, basically because we know that the rates we'd offer are not as competitive as what you'd find in the High Street, so we don't pretend we can give you an unbeatable deal when we know we can't. Until that changes, we'll not be offering finance.
The only add-on we do offer is delivery. Yes, I know that a lot of companies do include it in their prices, but we're rather different in that we don't. A lot of our vehicles come from Germany, so of course, there is more than one way to skin a cat, so we offer three different choices to get your car to you. Supplying cars is like selling anything, as long as you don't take the piss, people will always come back for more. That's my philosophy when it comes to conducting my business. The Matt Cardy Group is built on reputation. I want you to buy from me and come back year after year to buy cars from me. It's hard enough to win a deal in this buyer's market, I know that through experience, so we aim to make you feel special, not just another customer, but a life-long friend.
